The dreams of "Ram Rajya," a utopian society cherished by Mahatma Gandhi, seem distant and unattainable. However, in the India of my dreams, there will be radical transformations that can pave the way for a truly socialistic, prosperous, and unified nation.
In the India of my dreams, the principles of socialism will be upheld with utmost sincerity. All means of production and distribution will be under the ownership of the State, ensuring equitable wealth distribution. Workers will receive reasonable wages and be provided with incentives to boost productivity. The implementation of a perfect Public Distribution System will eliminate black-marketing and hoarding. Additionally, a wealth ceiling will restrict individuals from accumulating excessive wealth, reducing economic disparities that plague our society today.
Education will be the cornerstone of progress in the India of my dreams. Admission to colleges will be based on merit through entrance tests, emphasizing job-oriented education. Specialized technical and vocational schools will be established to train students for various trades, aligning education with the needs of the job market. Unemployment will be addressed effectively, ensuring that every qualified person has a job opportunity. The education system will be mandatory, and legal action will be taken against parents who fail to send their children to school, as education is crucial for a well-functioning democracy.
The prosperity of villages will be prioritized, following the vision of Gandhiji. Both small and large industries will be established in rural areas, reducing the mass migration of villagers to cities for employment opportunities. Women will have an equal and respected status in society, with fifty percent of government posts reserved for them. The oppressive practice of dowry will be eradicated, and women will be free from atrocities.
Corruption will have no place in public life in the India of my dreams. Stringent punishment will be meted out to those found guilty of corruption. Ombudsmen and committees with semi-legal powers, as seen in countries like Sweden, will be established to effectively combat corruption at all levels of governance.
Family planning will be encouraged as a voluntary effort to control population growth. Overpopulation can hinder economic development, and responsible family planning will be promoted to ensure a sustainable future for the nation.
Internationally, India will continue to uphold its policy of non-alignment. It will champion the cause of human rights and human dignity, opposing any attempts by other countries to subjugate these essential values.
To achieve the India of my dreams, every citizen must become a true patriot, dedicated to the prosperity and integrity of the nation. A united India, free from divisions, can march towards progress and development.
While these dreams may seem lofty and distant, it is crucial to remember that real change begins with individual efforts. As citizens, we must actively participate in creating awareness, advocating for change, and fostering a sense of responsibility towards our nation. By collectively working towards these ideals, we can turn the India of our dreams into a reality, a nation that stands tall on the pillars of socialism, education, equality, prosperity, and integrity.
